To link a YouTube video, first copy the link address from the YouTube website. (Please see the numbered steps in the image below)
- On the YouTube website, under the video, click on the “Share” button.
- Click on the “Share” Tab.
- Copy the link for the YouTube video.
Next, Edit the slide you wish to place a link in the Altora platform.
In the content editor, click on the “Link” button (marked by the circle in the image below)
A new “Insert Link” window will be displayed.
Paste the link you previously copied into the Url field. (See image below)
Enter the text you wish to display for the link.
Change the “Target” dropdown to read “NEW WINDOW” so that the link will open the YouTube website in a new window.
Click “OK”.
You will now be returned to the “Edit Slide” page and you will see the link to the content editor.
Save the slide you are currently editing and you have now linked to the YouTube video from your slide.
Embedding a YouTube video into a slide.
To embed a YouTube video, first, copy the embed code from the YouTube website. (Please see the numbered steps in the image below)
- On the YouTube website, under the video, click on the “Share” button.
- Click on the “Embed” Tab.
- Copy the embed code for the YouTube video from the field marked 3 below.
Next, Return to the Altora platform and edit the slide you wish to embed the YouTube video.
In the content editor, click on the “Source Code” button (marked by the circle in the image below)
A new “Source Code” window will be displayed. Paste the previously copied “source code” from the YouTube website into this window. (See image below)
Click on the “OK” button.
You will be returned to the “Slide Edit” page and you will now see a grey block in the content editor which represents the YouTube video within your slide content. (See image below)
Save the slide and you will have now embedded a YouTube video on your slide.
